Advancing Inclusive Education Through Awareness and Collaboration

An awareness programme was successfully organised at the District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC), GMC Rajouri, in collaboration with the RBSK team and DEIC staff. The session was facilitated by Ms. Iqra Kohli (District Programme Coordinator), with active participation from students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Rajouri.
The interactive discussion focused on building awareness around clubfoot and other childhood deformities, highlighting the importance of early identification, timely referral, and appropriate intervention. Emphasis was also placed on the UDID certification process, helping participants understand how it enables children with disabilities to access government entitlements and essential support services.
The session further underscored the importance of mainstream education and inclusive learning environments, reinforcing the collective responsibility to ensure that children with disabilities are supported to learn, grow, and participate equally alongside their peers.
Through collaborative awareness initiatives like this, Children in India continues to strengthen early care systems, build informed communities, and advance inclusive opportunitiesโso that every child can thrive with dignity and equal access.
