Strengthening Early Identification and Referral Support for Children with Developmental Needs

June 9, 2026

Promoting timely intervention, inclusive education, and brighter futures through collaborative action

As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting children with developmental challenges, Children in India recently conducted a visit to the District Early Intervention Centre in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The visit focused on strengthening early identification, referral mechanisms, and access to support services for children with developmental needs.

During the visit, one child with Autism Spectrum Disorder and two children experiencing developmental delays were identified and connected with appropriate support services. This important step highlights the value of early screening and intervention in addressing developmental concerns at the earliest possible stage.

Early identification plays a critical role in improving developmental outcomes. When children receive timely assessment, therapy, and specialized support, they are better equipped to develop essential skills, build confidence, and participate more effectively in educational and social environments. Such interventions not only enhance a child’s growth and well-being but also create opportunities for successful integration into mainstream education and society.

At Children in India, we remain committed to working closely with healthcare professionals, DEIC teams, educators, parents, and community stakeholders to ensure that children with developmental concerns receive the care and support they need. Through collaborative efforts, we strive to build stronger systems that facilitate timely referrals, access to services, and inclusive opportunities for every child.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the DEIC team and healthcare professionals in Jamnagar for their cooperation, dedication, and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of children and their families. Their efforts continue to make a meaningful difference in creating pathways for early intervention and inclusive growth.

Together, we can build a future where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, thrive, and participate fully in society with dignity, confidence, and hope. 🌟📚✨
