Celebrating Breastfeeding Awareness Week at DEIC, Jammu

January 11, 2026

On 4th August 2025, Children in India, in collaboration with Bee Enn College of Nursing, marked Breastfeeding Awareness Week at DEIC, Krishna Nagar, Jammu, with a strong message of care, support, and awareness for mothers and children. 🤱💙

The programme brought together nursing students, healthcare providers, and caregivers to spread vital information about the importance of breastfeeding in building a healthier and stronger generation. Through educational sessions, interactive discussions, and community engagement, participants explored the many physical, emotional, and long-term health benefits of breastfeeding.

This year’s theme, “Enabling Breastfeeding: Making a Difference for Working Parents,” highlighted the need for supportive environments that allow mothers to continue breastfeeding while balancing work responsibilities. The discussions emphasized shared responsibility — from healthcare systems and workplaces to families and communities — in creating conditions where breastfeeding can thrive.

Breastfeeding is often a child’s first step toward lifelong health, strengthening immunity, improving nutrition, and fostering emotional bonding. By raising awareness and encouraging supportive practices, initiatives like these help ensure that mothers feel informed, empowered, and supported in their breastfeeding journey.

Together, let us continue to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding, because when mothers are supported, children grow healthier — and communities grow stronger. 💪👶💙
