The Journey of a Mother’s Love

January 27, 2026

“A mother’s love is the fuel that enables a normal human being to do the impossible.”

Born in 2020, a little boy from Delhi was diagnosed with mild to moderate autism, developmental delays, and changes in eye formation. His journey has not been easy, filled with medical, emotional, and social challenges. Yet, through every difficulty, one force has remained constant—his mother’s unwavering love and determination.

In 2019, the family faced severe financial hardships. Despite the uncertainty, the child’s mother refused to give up. An artist by profession, she began selling her paintings, earning just ₹1,000–2,000, to support her son’s treatment and manage household needs. With the support of Children in India, she ensured that her child continued to receive the care and interventions he needed during this crucial phase of development.

Today, this young boy is enrolled in a mainstream school, marking a significant milestone in his journey. His mother stands beside him not only as a parent but also as his shadow teacher, guiding him gently through daily classroom activities. With her encouragement, he now participates confidently in dance, singing, and group programs, slowly finding his voice and place among his peers.

Regular occupational therapy, speech therapy, and physiotherapy sessions have helped him make steady progress in communication, socialisation, and emotional development. Each small achievement reflects the combined power of early intervention, professional support, and a mother’s endless patience.

Looking ahead, this remarkable mother dreams of completing her B.Ed. degree and becoming an educational counsellor, so she can extend her support to other children with special needs and their families. Her journey is not just about one child—it is about creating hope for many more.

Their story is a powerful reminder that a mother’s love does not end—it begins a journey of endless possibilities, proving that with belief, support, and inclusion, every child can thrive. 🌸✨
