Breaking Barriers, Building Belonging: Every Child Deserves a Place in the Classroom

In Dahod, Gujarat, a resilient six-year-old girl is discovering that her possibilities are far greater than the barriers around her. Although she cannot hear or speak, her curiosity, abilities, and potential know no limits.

For every child, education is more than learning from books. It is about making friends, discovering new abilities, participating in everyday experiences, and feeling a sense of belonging. This little girl deserves the same opportunity—to learn, grow, and be part of a mainstream classroom alongside her peers.

Building a Bridge to Education

Our team member, Ms. Krupaben, is working closely to support this child and her family as they take important steps towards her transition into mainstream education.

At Children in India, we actively work to support children with developmental delays and their families by providing guidance, facilitating access to education, and helping communities and schools create more inclusive environments.

The journey towards inclusion may not always be easy. It requires understanding, patience, collaboration, and a willingness to look beyond limitations and recognize the potential within every child.

An inclusive classroom is not simply a place where children learn together—it is a space where differences are accepted, abilities are celebrated, and every child has the opportunity to participate.

When we remove barriers to education, we build bridges towards confidence, independence, friendship, and a brighter future.
