Championing Every Child’s Right to Education and Inclusion

February 4, 2026

At DEIC Rajouri, a meaningful step was taken today toward inclusive care and education when a 7-year-old child with Down syndrome and speech impairment received compassionate, family-centred support. This interaction highlighted the importance of early guidance, informed families, and coordinated intervention in shaping positive outcomes for children with special needs.

Ms. Iqra Kohli (District Programme Coordinator), along with Child Psychologist Ms. Sabha, worked closely with the child and parents to provide clear guidance on UDID certification, pathways to mainstream education, and the importance of regular follow-up. These steps are essential in enabling families to access vital services, educational support, and legal entitlements that help children grow with dignity and confidence.

The session focused not only on addressing immediate needs but also on empowering the family with knowledge and reassurance. When parents are supported and informed, they become strong advocates for their children—ensuring continuity of care, timely intervention, and inclusive learning opportunities.

With early identification, empowered families, and sustained support, meaningful change becomes possible. At Children in India, we remain committed to ensuring that every child—regardless of ability—has the right to education, inclusion, and opportunity, and grows up supported by care, compassion, and equal access. Together, we continue building a future where every child in India can thrive with dignity and hope. 🌟✨
