Empowering Families with Knowledge for Better Health and Dignity

January 25, 2026

A special Health & Hygiene awareness session was conducted today at the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay National Institute of Persons with Disability, Delhi, under the guidance of Dr. Minakshi Batra, Incharge of CDEIC. The session was thoughtfully designed for children with disabilities and their parents, focusing on practical care and everyday hygiene practices.

During the session, Dr. Abhishek Garg from GTB Hospital, Delhi, shared valuable insights on essential aspects of hygiene and caregiving. Parents were guided on how to bathe and maintain personal hygiene for children with disabilities, helping them understand safe and effective methods suited to their children’s needs. The session also focused on building parents’ confidence, empowering them to care for their children with assurance and dignity.

In addition, the importance of proper handwashing before and after cooking was emphasized, highlighting its role in preventing infections and ensuring overall family health. These simple yet powerful practices can make a significant difference in a child’s well-being.

This initiative aimed to equip families with practical knowledge, confidence, and awareness, ensuring better health outcomes and promoting dignity for every child. Through such efforts, we continue to support families in creating healthier, safer, and more inclusive environments for children with disabilities. 🌸✨
