Empowering Future Nurses Through Awareness of Disability Support Schemes

January 7, 2026

On 16th July 2025, Vidushi Sharma, State Program Coordinator, conducted a highly informative and engaging session for M.Sc. (N) 1st and 2nd year students at Bee Enn College of Nursing. The session was held under the supervision of Mrs. Sain Priya, HOD – Child Health Nursing Department.

The training focused on two critical and impactful topics:

  • Beneficiaries of the Niramaya Health Insurance Scheme
  • Eligibility Criteria for Unique Disability ID (UDID)

Through expert guidance and clear explanations, students gained in-depth understanding of the benefits, eligibility conditions, and application processes of these key government initiatives designed to support persons with disabilities and their families.

The session was highly interactive, encouraging questions, discussions, and real-world examples. This ensured that future nursing professionals not only grasped the technical and procedural aspects of these schemes but also understood their social significance in promoting equity, access, and dignity in healthcare.

By equipping young healthcare workers with this essential knowledge, the session marked a meaningful step toward building a more accessible, inclusive, and compassionate healthcare system—where informed professionals can guide families and individuals toward the support they rightfully deserve.
