Strengthening Early Intervention Efforts in Godhra, Gujarat

February 23, 2026

As part of our continued commitment to child development and inclusion, our District Project Coordinator (DPC) visited the District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) in Godhra, Gujarat.

The visit reinforced our shared mission of ensuring early identification and intervention for children with developmental needs. Early support is critical in enabling children with special needs to access timely therapies, educational opportunities, and pathways toward independence.

Understanding the Role of DEIC in Child Development

The District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) plays a vital role in early screening, diagnosis, and therapeutic support for children facing developmental challenges. During the visit, meaningful discussions were held with healthcare professionals and families to better understand:

  • Ongoing therapies and treatment plans
  • Challenges faced by children and caregivers
  • Referral pathways for specialized services
  • Opportunities for strengthened collaboration

These interactions provided valuable insights into how coordinated efforts can enhance outcomes for children with special needs.

Early Intervention as the Foundation for Inclusion

At Children in India, we strongly believe that early intervention is the cornerstone of inclusion. Identifying developmental concerns at the right time ensures that children receive appropriate care and support during the most crucial years of growth.

Timely intervention not only improves developmental outcomes but also:

  • Facilitates smoother integration into mainstream education
  • Enhances social and communication skills
  • Builds confidence and independence
  • Empowers families with knowledge and support

By focusing on early identification and structured assistance, we move closer to creating inclusive communities where every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Building Stronger Pathways of Inclusion

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our dedicated team member for proactive field engagement and to the DEIC team in Godhra for their continued cooperation and commitment to child development.

Collaborative efforts between healthcare professionals, families, and community organisations are essential in building a strong support system for children with developmental needs.

Together, we are creating pathways of inclusion—ensuring that every child receives the care, dignity, and opportunities they deserve.
