Strengthening Early Intervention for Inclusive Education

February 7, 2026

As part of Children in India’s ongoing efforts to strengthen early childhood interventions, the District Programme Coordinator (DPC) from Rajkot, Gujarat, conducted a visit to the District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) today. The visit reaffirmed our shared commitment to early identification, timely care, and inclusive pathways for children with developmental challenges.

The focus of the visit was on identifying children with developmental delays and birth defects, and emphasising the importance of early and timely intervention. Early screening and prompt support play a critical role in addressing developmental needs and preparing children for successful inclusion in mainstream education.

Meaningful interactions with the DEIC staff highlighted the importance of coordinated screening, effective referral systems, and consistent follow-up. Such collaboration ensures that children receive appropriate therapies, educational guidance, and family support at the right time, enabling holistic development.

Field engagements like these are essential to ensuring that children with developmental challenges are not left behind, but are supported to reach their full potential and integrate into regular schooling with dignity, confidence, and equal opportunities.

Together, through sustained collaboration and shared purpose, we continue working towards an inclusive future where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. 🌟✨
